Rydal Water in July courtesy Lakeland CamRydal Water 0.75 mile in length 0.25 mile in width and 55ft in depth, lies in the vale of the Rothay with the Rothay river connecting it to Grasmere Lake. Bracken-covered fells rise up from the lake shores. Doreen Wallace in discussing the size of Rydal Water in English Lakeland described it as a mere raindrop of a lake, and it is tiny.

Rydal Water is located on the A591 by the town of Rydal.
