Lake District Coast Aquarium

(See also Maryport)

Rockpool courtesy Lake District Coast AquariumLovers of sea life will enjoy the Lake District Coast Aquarium. The natural history of the Solway is brought into focus with realistically modelled aquatic habitats and informative displays that include fresh water, deep reef, and rock pool habitats. Manta rays, tub gurnards, sharks, eels, and 2000 other specimens (150 species) are on view in 35 tanks. Both native Cumbrian and other sea creatures are included. The aquarium is both entertaining and informative and suitable for children and adults. There are feeding demonstrations at various times throughout the day.Adult Blonde Ray courtesy Lake District Coast Aquarium
