Slapestones Gallery is owned by Jennifer and Richard Hardisty whose forebears have lived in the valley for several centuries. The gallery exhibits original watercolours, paintings, and prints by several local artists including the owners.

Jennifer Hardisty's watercolours focus on Grasmere as a subject. They portray the district in a gentle and atmospheric style, suggesting the landscape in moody and thoughtful soft tones.

Slapestones Gallery is located on Pye Lane (between Swan Hotel and Blacksmith's forge) at Grasmere on the A591.
