Beatrix Potter Gallery
(See also Beatrix Potter , Hawkshead)
The Beatrix Potter Gallery contains the original sketches and watercolours she used to illustrate her children's stories.
The exhibition is changed every year so visitors may see different works. A display in the gallery highlights Potter's life and the times in which she lived.
The 17th century building, largely unchanged, in which the exhibition is housed was the office of her husband, solicitor William Heelis, whose office is re-created in the museum.
The Beatrix Potter Gallery is located on Main Street in Hawkshead.
