Parks and Gardens

Most of the historic gardens of Cumbria are found in the grounds of the county’s grand homes. They date from Hutton-in-the-Forest’s royal forest of the middle ages through the 17th century (Holker Hall, Levens Hall) to the 18th century (Dalemain) and up to today. The present owners of the historic homes continue to maintain and improve the gardens for the enjoyment of visitors.
