Parks and Gardens

Most of the historic gardens of Cumbria are found in the grounds of the county’s grand homes. They date from Hutton-in-the-Forest’s royal forest of the middle ages through the 17^th century (Holker Hall, Levens Hall) to the 18^th century (Dalemain) and up to today. The present owners of the historic homes continue to maintain and improve the gardens for the enjoyment of visitors.
