Courtesy HeritageFirstHeritage First!, formerly known as the Ulverston Heritage Centre, is in The Cottage, dedicated to the life of Sir John Barrow. Their collection of documents covers information about Ulverston and Furness from Neolithic times to post World War II. Traditions, industries, historical records of ships, historical photographs, artefacts, and more tell of Ulverstons history. For family history researchers there are limited facilites with documents and records dating back to the 18th century, both available at the cottage and by email for a fee. Books on both local history and Lakeland are on sale.
