Laurel and Hardy Museum
(See also Ulverston)
The Laurel and Hardy Museum in Ulverston is
the only one of its kind in the world. It contains memorabilia of the pair of film comedians and
a small 1920's style cinema showing their films.
Stan Laurel (the thin half of the duo) was born on June 16, 1890 at 3 Argyle St.
in Ulverston (at the time a part of Lancashire). A plaque on the house commemorates the event. He
spent his early years as a comic on the music hall circuit
