Penrith Museum

The Penrith Museum,
along with the Tourist Information Centre, is located in the historical Robinson's School, built
during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and altered in 1670.
The Museum houses information and displays on the history, geology, and
archaeology of Penrith and the Eden Valley. Among the exhibits are pottery from the Plumpton
Roman fort, Maughanby 'cup and ring' stones, and a Skelton village medieval carnival. Exhibitions
of historical and contemporary art are presented in the gallery area, added in the 1990's.
Location: Robinson's School, Middlegate, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11 7PT. Penrith is
at junction 40 of the M6 and also on the A6/A66.
