William Creighton Mineral Museum and Gallery

The exhibits at the WM Creighton Mineral and Fossil Museum, housed in an 18^th century building, focus on Northern English specimens, many of whose origins are from the Cleator Moor area or Egremont's Florence Mine. The minerals and rocks are a varied collection of shapes and colours. They include Shap granite, garnet, Cumberland green slate, and andesite. One of the displays highlights a collection of fluorescent minerals. Fossils and a collection of miners' lamps and tools are included.
