Lakeland Motor Museum at Holker Hall By Julian ThurgoodThe Lakeland Motor Museum is a must for fans of automobilia. It houses more than 30,000 objects ranging from advertising posters to petrol pumps to vintage motorcycles. A collection of more than 150 cars includes Alpha Romeos, Lagondas, Bentleys, and Buicks. Tractors, bicycles, and pedal cars round out the motor exhibition. There's even a recreation of a 1920s garage.

The museum houses a replica of the Bluebird car driven by Malcolm Campbell when he broke the world land speed record in 1935. Another replica is of the hydroplane in which he killed himself on Coniston Lake in 1967 while trying to break a speed record.
