Briery

Briery caravan site on former bobbin factory place by Roger Cornfoot at geographorgBriery, also called Low Briery, is a small village located in Allerdale and snuggled up to the town of Keswick. It sits in a ravine carved by the river Greta. The Low Briery mill located here was the industrial revolution’s first. It manufactured bobbins, producing as many as 40 million yearly. A textile mill, also located here, made bottom edgings for waistcoats.
