Crooklands

Set in low hills by the old Lancaster Canal, the village of Crooklands is part of a landscape that contains small surrounding hamlets. The canal was used for moving coal from Lancashire to Kendal. The wharves and canal horses have long disappeared from the village.

Lovers of agricultural shows will want to visit Crooklands in September when the Westmorland County Show plays host to a couple of hundred trade booths.
