Portinscale
Portinscale is a farming
village. The area has been settled since prehistoric times, evidence of which was uncovered in
the early 1900s. A collection of axeheads was found in a stonesmiths workplace.
The local pub, Farmers Arms, serves real ale. There is a village store and
tearoom. Portinscale caters to tourists with its many hotels and other types of
accommodations.
