Towns and Villages of Cumbria

Holme St. Cuthbert

(See also Aspatria , Allonby)

Holme St Cuthbert Church by John Lord GeographHolme St Cuthbert gets its name from Holme Cultram Abbey, being sited on land that once belonged to the abbey.

Surrounded by farmland, it is near Cumbria’s coast. Nearby are the towns of Aspatria and Allonby.

The village church, St Cuthbert, was built in 1845 in the Gothic style to serve as a chapel-of-ease. It is two miles outside the village.

Holme St Cuthbert is three miles north-east of Allonby in Allerdale.
