Towns and Villages of Cumbria


Banks courtesy Oliver DixonBanks is a tiny hamlet beside Hadrian’s Wall. It looks down on the river Irthing. There are Roman wall and turret remains near the village. There is a primitive Methodist chapel in Banks. The former post office is a private house.

Banks is on a minor road three miles north-east of Brampton on the northern side of the A69.
