Boustead Hill

Boustead Hill courtesy Andrew Smith GeographBoustead Hill, on high ground, lies near the marshy coast of the Solway Firth. Hadrian's Wall ends here, not in stone, but in turf. The Solway Commons, a National Trust property, adjoins it.

Both the Hadrian's Wall cycle way and trail go through the village. A farm bed and breakfast serves the needs of walkers and cyclists.Victorian post box Boustead Hill by maljoe flickr

Farming and sheep rearing are a means of livelihood. Horse riding lessons are also on offer in the village.

The village boasts a Victorian post box embedded in its own brick column.
