Towns and Villages of Cumbria


Cumdivock house courtesy John HolmesThe name of this village means ‘black valley’. It sits in the middle of farming land. Cumdivock House in the village was built on the remains of a 12th century house. The cellar is barrel roofed and has parts of an old well in it.

Cumdivock is 5.5 miles south-west of Carlisle.
