Waterhead
(See also Ambleside)
Waterhead could almost be classified as part of the town of Ambleside, as it lies a short mile from it at the head of Windermere lake. Its location makes it a popular holiday spotyou can rent a boat or take a lake cruise from the pier. Having a meal or a cup of tea while enjoying lake views is another popular pastime. Swans, ducks, and other waterfowl like the free handouts from visitors.

Steamers sail from Waterhead down to Bowness. For a different mode of transport try a horse-drawn carriage from the Waterhead pier to Ambleside. |
