Nateby, a farming village, is a gateway to Swaledale and the Mallerstang Edge moors. The small village and its green sit near the river Eden. Nearby are the Nine Standards Rigg uplands. Many of the local cottages are built from bokram, a stone from the Kirkby Stephen countryside.
