Tallentire, a west Cumbrian village, was a manor granted to Odard, son of Lyulph. The descendants claimed the local name of Tallentire. A school was constructed here in 1863 and a Congregational chapel in 1876. The Bush Inn pub serves as the village local.

Tallentire is located on a minor road between the A595 and A594 north of Cockermouth.
